DJ`NinjaProphet

I got into music about the same time I discovered masturbation. The jury's still out as to which one I love more. I spent 11 years in a drum and bugle corps as a drummer. After that, I got into a few garage bands that never quite made the alley, let alone a paying gig. I got a job as a bouncer at a local club in downtown Milwaukee. It didn't take them long to figure out that I knew more about Motown than a few of their regular DJ's did and I was quickly promoted to one of the house DJ positions. I did that for about a year and in the meantime I discovered alcohol and heroin. After 16 years of that silly shit, I got clean and sober and re-discovered my love of music. It took my friends a couple of years to convince me it was 1984 and disco was dead!!!

Once I had a firm grip on sobriety, a friend of mine and I started our own DJ service. We played weddings, Bar Mitzvahs, divorces, hangings, whatever and slowly built up our equipment and music collection. I left a $8,000 light and sound show with him when I left Wisconsin because honestly, I was sick and tired of hauling and storing the crap. I was also in 6 more bands during this period. I'm a hack of a keyboard player and a passable lead singer. One of the bands, South Side Slim made the local roadhouse circuit and was quite successful until the drummer fell in love with a woman who decided that her house cat had more value than our band did.

A few years ago, I discovered on-line dj'ing and I've never looked back. No truck full of heavy equipment to drag around and I still get to do what I love. I've been on 5 or 6 different stations in my time and Rendezvous Radio is by far the longest and the best I've ever been associated with. The friends I have made on this station are just phenomenal and I love them like family! Okay, the family's a bit dysfunctional now and then, but over-all we get along and co-operate better than any group I have ever been associated with.

I have no idea why they started calling me the Bad Boy. Because honestly, I'm nothing but nice!!!!!

DJ`Jimbo

Hi everyone. I started out in radio in 1970 at Pacific Lutheran University at KPLU-FM in Tacoma Washington. I was program director in My junior year and station manger in My senior year. I never pursued a DJ career but never lost My love for music from classical to country to rock to blues. Not long ago I became unable to work because of a disablity and the caged`pet (My r/l neighbor) asked Me if I would be interested in being a DJ on internet radio. I jumped at the opportunity and started with Rendezvous Radio in January 2007 as a DJ and now I help in running day to day operations of the best internet radio station on B.com. I would like to say we have the best station owners in Doc & Brother Elwood and My staff is totally the best staff I have had the opportunity to work with. At the present time I do overnights and love playing everything from classic rock to country from artists from North America, Europe, the Orient and Australia. I also do a Solid Gold Oldies show on Sundays 4pm to 8pm eastern time. If I dont have what you want to hear and you do, feel free to send it to Me so I can include it in My growing playlist. You can always find Me in the #Rendezvous_Radio chat room or on Yahoo (Jimbo2650@yahoo.com). If I am not there feel free to leave Me a message or email Me at jimbo@rendezvousradio.ca. Thanks to My listeners and My staff for Y/your support. My philosophy is to in some way make Y/your day just a little bit brighter.

dj`andine (Metal Mama)

I "am" andine, sometimes referred to as "the metal mama" and sometimes...well many other things I won't mention here.  As most people who have listened to any of my shows already know, I like to RAWK! And that includes any and all from golden oldies to todays' top hits, I try to keep informed with the newest releases out there by subscribing to several online newsletters from my favorite groups, as well as keeping quite a few as 'friends' on myspace.com..... definitely keeps me in the loop.  I also have a favorite radio station I listen to in my car, which keeps me informed as well on all the newest out.

As most people know, I thrive on requests from listeners....it lets me know you are enjoying the music I have to offer as well as introducing me to music and genre I have not heard before. Different groups are popular in different areas of the world and it is fun to find new groups I like.  So keep those requests coming and if I don't have a song, you all know I will try my best to have it the next time I put on my headset to entertain you.

On a more personal note:

My personality changes tho the underlying trait has to be my outgoing ways....there is NO stranger, only friends I have not met yet. I try to always see the good in others, because even tho it may be so deep no one else sees it, I know it's there!
I sometimes think I maybe try too hard to get folks to like me which in turn may turn some off. I figure, their loss, I am a great person! Hardly will you ever see me without a smile on my face, unless I am deep in thought and not really even seeing you or hearing you. I keep my inner problems to myself, after all everyone has problems and they don't need to listen to mine. I will share if asked, I mean it's not top-secret or anything....I just don't push it on anyone.

My ambition in life......Ambition! I am not sure I have any one specific ambition, my Mother always told me I have none at all. That may be in the end, since I am happy to just go along on an even keel, not making a lot of waves in general.

To achieve the goal of finding my lifetime love has eluded me, to the point of giving up on that....still, it seems my life could be better had I been successful in that. A person reaches my age and they look back at all the "coulda and woulda" things, and they KNOW it might have been different with other choices.......oh well, can't change it now, can I?!?!?!

How about some of my "pet peeves"??

I am what a lot of folks on IRCwould call a "grammar" nazi, as well as a spelling nazi, yes, it's true I admit it most times I overlook a lot because I understand typos occur, but the constant misuse of a few words really "bug" me. One I will mention briefly here just in case I ever DO meet any of you. I totally HATE the way some people will say: "are you being have" instead of: "are you behaving"! There is NO verb known as: "to have" The -ing goes at the end of the word, not "in the middle"!!! Understand? I will call you on it, even if I do not know you and I hear it!

So, there ya go, a little 'insight' about who I am, outside of this djing thing.....just remember to "Keep rocking!!!"

caged`pet`dj

Hi there.  I’m cagey, the “other” blues dj.  I’ve worked with Doc for something like 7or 8 years with internet dj’ing.  Where he goes, I follow J

Over the years I’ve had favorite genres but blues is where I’ve settled.  I read somewhere, if you haven’t lived the blues, you haven’t lived.  My music tends to be rock’n’blues and since I only have one shift, that’s pretty much the only genre I do.  My library consists of Rock, R&B, Blues and ambient music.  And some country, only my favorite songs or classic artists.

Things I love to do include riding my motorcycle.  Here in the Pacific Northwest we ride when we can;  some ride all year long but I wrinkle in the rain so I avoid riding in it.  I belong to several groups of riders.  The one I’m most proud to be a member of is the Patriot Guard Riders.  We ride in formation accompanying the soldier to the funeral home, and at the internment, forming a flagline.  Here is from their mission statement:

The Patriot Guard Riders is a diverse amalgamation of riders from across the nation. We have one thing in common besides motorcycles. We have an unwavering respect for those who risk their very lives for America’s freedom and security. If you share this respect, please join us.

We don’t care what you ride or if you ride, what your political views are, or whether you’re a hawk or a dove. It is not a requirement that you be a veteran. It doesn't matter where you’re from or what your income is; you don’t even have to ride. The only prerequisite is Respect.

Our main mission is to attend the funeral services of fallen American heroes as invited guests of the family.

http://www.patriotguard.org/Home/OurMission/tabid/60/Default.aspx

So anyway, hope to have time to tune in on Friday nights.  You’ll never know until you try me.

I was born a poor black child..... Steve Martin(The Jerk)

Well what to say?...hmmmmmmmmm I have always had a big interest in music. Been collecting for some time myself. I had collections and lost them through moving and divorces. About 2 yrs ago I started collecting again re-acquiring my music collection, plus much more! One day out of boredom I stumbled into #Dominationsex and met channy, started asking questions about rendezvous radio she directed me to the Rendezvous Radio room and the rest is history. I enjoy DJ'n allot, I try to put allot of effort into my shows, but there is one thing I have learned and that's you gotta have fun! That was one of the first things Doc told me...have fun! As you all know I have a wide variety of music from blues to heavy metal and everything in between. I try to stay on top of new releases as best I can. I am always looking for new ideas and suggestions. Like I say in one of my many popups Help Me make my show , your show! And that's what its all about you the listeners..in my humble opinion anyways. Well I guess I have rambled on enough for today. And remember this: Be good and if you're going to be bad...be damn good at it!!!

dj`fyre (angel`fyre)

I have been a DJ for almost 5 years now. I joined Rendezvous Radio at the request of DJ`Jimbo, on October 20, 2008. I  can't say that music has been my life because it really hasn't, sure I listened to it growing up but it wasn't something I devoted extra time to...until...my brother-in-law started singing country music in Southern California....then i was hooked. I grew up in Upstate NY until I was about 8 years old, then moved to Calif. After graduating High School, I moved back to NY, where I started my family. I have a wonderful 19 year old daughter attending Ohio State and a fantastic son, 18, attending Fredonia State in NY. I remarried 5 years ago and now live in Colorado where I have 2 new sons, one 18 and headed for the military and one 16 and in High School. You all may know my Husband, He goes by the nickname Leatherneck.

I have made some wonderful friends here and they have made me feel right at home. I play all kinds of music but my "specialty" is country. Thursdays from Noon - 4PM Eastern is my country show, all country, all day...not to mention andine's favorite show (she really is a closet country fan). I also DJ on Wednesdays from 4-8PM Eastern. You can find me hanging out in the #Rendezvous_Radio chat room... "Where Old Friends Meet....Sometimes For The Very First Time" or on Yahoo (angel.fyrre@yahoo.com). If there is something you wanna hear, let me know....and if i dont have it, ask anyways ;)

I am one of the new DJs here at Rendezvous Radio. This is my very first time DJing ever. My best friend angel`fyre dragged me into it kicking and screaming but I love her for it. I joined just about 3 months ago and have been having fun ever since. I have made many new friends at Rendezvous Radio.

I am from Seattle Washington, where I live with my husband Steve and our 3 dogs (Bubba, Mocha and Shadow) and 2 birds (Sonny & Cher).

I play any kind of music but mostly oldies. You can catch my shows on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday from Noon - 4PM Eastern time. You will know me as "the dj with the thingie".

You can find me hanging out in #Rendezvous_Radio or on Yahoo as angelicblue104@yahoo.com. Feel free to send me song requests before my shows. Stop by and say hi and make some wonderful new friends.

dj`{aiyana}G

dj`aiyana was born and raised for 33 years in England before she moved to Cape Cod, Ma. In 1999. I am 43 years old and have two wonderful children. I have always been a musical person, my grandmother taught me to play the piano at the age of 3. The house mainly played classical music in the background so I have substantial knowledge of that. However as my brothers grew up I started listening to their stuff (as they played it so loudly).

What music do I really like and play? I have an extremely wide taste as can be seen by my playlist, anything from classical to metal, but is not a fan of rap. I love the 60’s 70’s and 80’s music.

What do I feel I bring to Rendezvous Radio? I am the new kid on the Rendezvous Radio block and I am looking forward to bringing the listeners something of the British music world to them. British groups and bands were at the forefront of the musical age and I am planning to bring some to the airwaves. I hope the listeners will enjoy as much as I will enjoy playing it.

I am originally from california currently living in perth, australia.
I am a single mom with an adorable little girl whose name is jellybugs she loves to torment the Dj's.

I used to DJ for another station under the name Rainnie, but took a break for the past year or so. I stumbled on Rendezvous Radio and struck up a conversation with the DJ (Jimbo)...after a couple months of Jimbo begging me to DJ for Rendezvous Radio, I had to simply give in. My shows are late night friday and saturday.
I love to play 80's music, rock, pop, alternative.
If I tell you I absolutely detest groups like marilyn manson you are probably gonna force me to play him.

I have lived with music all my life.. From the time I stood in a crib and my mom and dad played the Oldies, or my siblings would crank up the stereo and drowned out my crying. As I grew up, I joined chorus and sang alto all through jr high and high school. Music made me happy, and always lifted my spirits. So when I needed something to make me feel good, I’d turn on the radio or I’d find some way to listen to it..

I never thought about being a DJ but loved the Dj’s in the room I hung out in. I’d drive thea, tiny dancer and Jimbo crazy with request, I know I had to make them crazy, they were just to nice to tell me to shut up. One Day Doc ask me if I’d like to try being a DJ, I think he thought I’d tell him no, but if you know me, I like challenges and I would try anything once lol, so between him, Jimbo, Ninja, SirM and andine I got my start. I think I gave them lots of gray hairs but they hung in there and got me started.. Thanks Guys!! Now im addicted to it. I play country, hip-hop, pop, rock and Christian rock.. I love playing for everyone and getting request. But I think the best thing is the RR family I have picked up. Great People working for the radio station and the listeners are the best .. So if you get a chance jump in and listen!

dj`dena

Hello everyone! :) I am dena, aka Kathy. Most online people outside of b.com call me Kat - hence my intro tune of Stray Cat Strut (not to mention the fact that I like the song!).

I've gone through periods of life when music was ever present (such as when I sold stereo), to when it was nearly extinct, and I tell you what, life with music is WAY better than without it! In August of 2008, I ended up living in a strange town (in more ways than one), all alone. After having raised two sons and having husbands and a roommate, living all by myself was ... shall we say... difficult? Ok, it was really pretty awful. I returned to IRC for people interaction, discovered internet radio, and eventually Rendezvous Radio.

The family here is absolutely incredible. Outside of my obvious adoration of andine and anthea, there are two incidents I'd like to relate to you. I used to leave the station playing all the time (well, still do, just not on speakers!). Like I mentioned, living alone didn't exactly suit me, and since I had no TV service, this station was many times the only sound (and especially voices) that I'd hear for days upon end. One day I came home from the store, and Jimbo was on the air, babbling on in his adorable fashion. I had to PM him to say thank you... it really made me feel like I wasn't so alone after all. Another time, I was sitting here drinking my coffee, VERY early in the morning, listening to NinjaProphet. He came on the air, and it was like he was speaking to me directly (although I doubt he even knew I was listening!) He said "Sometimes you have to pull your head out of your ass to see the love and friendships that are all around you." I proceeded to tell him thank you, and then worked on pulling my head out... ;)

As far as my music... I really do love nearly all of it, although I do not care for rap or anything so loud and headbanging it makes my head hurt, lol. Contrary to common belief, I do like country music very much - Dixie Chicks and Clint Black are two of my favorites. But I also love lots of the newer groups, especially Shinedown and Theory of a Deadman. (As I write this, channy just played a Vince Gill tune... ack... HARD LIMIT!! <g>)

So maybe I'll shut up now, and leave you with a statement SirMychael made - Rendezvous Radio is the best because our listeners are the best! YOU are what make the station great, and each of you is appreciated and valued quite highly! :)

dj`kate (irish`kate)

Hihi E/everyone irish kate here!

I feel very lucky to be Irish because there is just a deep love of Music in our culture. Music has been the thing that has sustained me through every period of my life (which is getting quite long at this stage). I got my first record – Beatles - from Santa Claus when I was 4!! My first report from Boarding School and indeed many subsequent ones had the comment that “if Kate took the same interest in other subjects as she did in her gramophone records she’d top of the class. Well I didn’t and subsequently every transition in my life is filled with different music!!!!

Seeing Eric Clapton,Van Morrison, Tom Waits, Pink Floyd in my teens were life-changing events. At 18 I happened on Jazz and was to be found at about 3 sessions round Dublin every week! Then I developed an abiding interest in blues, classic rock and folk music. I spent a lot of time in my late teens and early twenties travelling to festivals and concerts around Europe. I became fascinated with world music when my daughter was small and we used to dance together a lot. Reggae live gigs were a feature of that part of my life! To these days my daughter and now my grand-daughter share a deep love of music.

I loved and played classical music for many years on piano and guitar and when at University I was to be found in the entertainment office arranging with my great friend the Ents officer what bands would be coming in to play!!!! How I graduated I’ll never know! I really started listening to Irish and Scottish music in the late 1980 when living with a ScotsMan!

I started to broadcast on irc in 2002 with GPR. It was a wonderful respite to a very busy career. When GPR moved to Second Life I wasn’t interested in broadcasting in such a graphics intense mileau!. I stopped Broadcasting in 2005 and was unable to resume until recently. I found Rendezvous Radio and was really impressed with the culture created by Doc and Brother Elwood and sat in the station listening for a week solid. RR took a chance with me. I love listening to the music of other DJ’s and have made lovely connections with some of the DJ’s and Listeners at Rendezvous Radio. Requests would be such a delight if you can’t sleep in the early morning on Continental USA!!!

Eurotrash-DJ

Music has been my passion since I was five years old and my Mom played the Sgt. Peppers album for me for the first time. I started playing the guitar when I was seven. The first 10 years I played classical (You know, Bach and shit), but my Dad bought me a stratocaster that was it.

I absolutely love the 60's. I am really a hippie at heart. I was born too late, so I'll play Jimi or The Doors for you any time you ask.

I have been a part of the radio scene here on b.com for many years. I even have some DJ friends here I have known for what must be more than a decade.

Some time ago I felt, for various reasons, that I needed a short break from IRC and the radio, that break would turn out to last about 4 years. But now I am back and ready to do that which I love so much...to play music... I would prefer if your requests were within the genre I'm playing :0)
